---

a skill is the smallest unit of knowing how. one markdown file that teaches an ai to do one thing well: design an interface that doesn't read as a template, chase a bug down before guessing at a fix, write postgres the way the people who build it would. today they live everywhere and nowhere. a folder on one laptop, a gist from march, a link in a thread you can't find again. so we built them a home, and it's open.

## the community

innernet.live/community is a public shelf of skills, with a few rooms beside it. everything on it is a link, and a link is the whole interface: hand it to claude, chatgpt, cursor or anything else that reads, and it knows what to do. no install, no plugin, no config file. you copy a line and your ai is suddenly better at something.

```embed rooms
```

skills come first, because they are what you reach for in the middle of work. guides are the short, honest walkthroughs for the parts of innernet worth learning once. resources are the tools, clients and reading that go well with a memory of your own. and about says, plainly, who is here and how it all works.

## the shelf, as it is

this is the real shelf, made small. the cards are the real cards and open the real pages. every one of them copies its own link, so if you already know what you are looking for you never have to open anything at all.

```embed shelf
```

## a link you can hold

every skill has a page for you and a plain-text twin for your ai, and the page says the quiet part out loud, right under the title. the link sits on one line, lit, with the copy button inside it. when it's longer than its field it drifts past slowly rather than breaking in two.

```embed link
```

## bring what you were handed

most skills reach you secondhand. somebody posts one on x, a friend drops a repo in a chat, a leaderboard tells you to run `npx skills add` something. all of those are welcome now. hand your ai whatever you were handed and innernet reads it for what it is: an install line, a skills.sh page, a github folder, a gist, a post on x or reddit. nothing gets installed and you don't need node. it finds the repo the words point at and reads the skill from there.

```embed bring
```

a skill is its author's, so it's published under their name, first, with a link back to where they shared it. the words are theirs, unchanged. whoever brought it is named beside them, never instead of them. the same skill can't be listed twice, and once an author is recorded, nobody can quietly change who it belongs to. and we write to them. one short letter, with the skill as it appears on the shelf, where it lives, and one link that takes it down if they'd rather it wasn't there. no reason needed.

## without leaving the conversation

this is the part we're most excited about. if innernet is connected to the tools you use, the community is already inside them. you don't have to come here at all.

ask your ai for help with something and it can look the shelf up by what you're actually trying to do, offer you the one or two skills that fit, and name who wrote them. say yes and it reads the whole skill and uses it, right there. say keep it and the skill becomes a page in your own innernet, private, and from then on every tool you connect can load it.

```embed chat
```

this works today in every tool you have connected innernet to. if you have been connected a while and don't see it yet, reopen the innernet connector in your client once.

## sharing, from your dashboard

the other half of the community is you.

any page in your innernet can become a door. open it from your dashboard and the share studio shows you the page exactly as someone holding the link will meet it. you choose who it opens for: anyone with the link, or only you, and that takes effect at once. you give it a name, you choose the ground it opens in, and the page on the left changes colour while you decide. your netti comes with it and grows along the edge as they read.

```embed share
```

when the page is a skill and the door is open, it also appears on the community shelf, wearing your name, always as the version you keep now and never a copy that goes stale. close the door and it leaves. whoever opens your link can save it into their own innernet with one press. you can see how many times it's been opened, and you can let a link go whenever you like: anyone still holding it finds nothing.

## what comes next

the shelf is small on purpose right now: innernet's own skills, the ones the builders we admire already share in the open, and the first few that people have brought. it grows every time someone brings one, and every skill that lands makes every connected ai a little more capable for everyone.

the hope underneath all of it is simple. whatever you learn to do well, and whatever someone else figured out before you, should be one link away from every tool you think with. please come and look around, bring the skills you already love, and tell us what's missing.
