the group model
how a room thinks: why it exists, how it decides and what is still open, each item quoting the page it rests on.
what it is
a group model is the person model pointed at a team. it is a function from the room’s shared work, its own pages, to a state that says why the room is here, how it decides, what it is betting on now, which decisions set its course and what is still open.
it is less about the people than about the work: no item names anyone. disagreement is kept as evidence, every position in its own line, and where a decision pulls against what the room says it values, the page names both.
it runs today in rooms as how we think, which the innernet team uses on its own rooms. it has no paper yet and claims no number.
the evidence
- what it isone page per room, how we think, rebuilt by netti from the room’s own pagesapps/web/lib/rooms/groupModel.ts (#244)
- what an item rests ona quote, word for word, from a page; an item whose quote is not in the page is droppedapps/web/lib/rooms/groupModel.ts
- who decides an item’s voicecode, from the evidence: settled, shared, told once, or netti’s reading. the model may only lower itapps/web/lib/rooms/groupModel.ts
- rooms are open to the innernet team only, so no room’s content appears here; the demo is described, not shown
- no paper and no number yet, by choice: it is a v0 of the person model’s rules pointed at a team
